"A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him". David Brinkley
Lets discuss success today. I hear a whole lot about the C's of success of life and all. Today let's talk about the T's for success. Success cannot be over emphasized because we are all living to succeed at all that we do. Falling and constantly rising can be associated with success.
We will be discussing 5 T's that I believe can lead to success and they include:
Truth, Time, Today, Tomorrow and Thank you.
Why are they chosen to be the 5 T's its because:
- We need them everyday
- We live them everyday
And since success is a daily pursuit we apply what we need everyday and our way of living.
Truth
There are some truths we should know about success which help us through our journey of life. It is important that you always have it at the back of your mind that you don’t have a choice other than to succeed despite the hurdles you might be facing.
To succeed, you need to know the truth first of all which is that God, your heavenly father has made sure of it that you succeed but what you do with the knowledge of this goes a long way in you succeeding
John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth and
the truth shall make you free”
When we work with the consciousness of the truth that the One that always has our back is in support of our success, it makes us put in our best and keep pushing even when things seem to be going not as we planned.
They are some truth tools we need to always hold on to and they include but not limited to:
• Success is for everyone
• Failure is a step to success
• Success is not limited to finances
• Success starts from the mind
Time
Time is a commodity which is of utmost importance in success. The way we spend our time matters a lot because time not invested is time wasted. I hear people say. I wish God can just add extra hours because 24 hours is not enough and I smile because some people are actually satisfied with their 24 hours and they get to do all they need to do, the efficiency for us to manage our time is the secret to success.
Management of time is necessary and compulsory in the school of success, even the bible says there is time for everything under the sun-Ecclesiastes 3:1.
As much as sleep is good, too much sleep also isn’t good.
In the ratio of time we have to put a lot of things into consideration. What is your ratio of time you spend sleeping to that of time you actually invest, it should never be a ratio of 2:1 whereby sleep is higher than your invested time. If after sleeping you wake up and say oh I need more hours then you did yourself wrong because you and I know that Time waits for no one.
Successful people sleep less to maximize their time and produce useful output.
Success does not come overnight but it takes time, so just keep doing what you are doing diligently and over time you will become successful.
Today
What we do today affects our tomorrow, what we plant today is what we reap in bountiful folds tomorrow.
There are things we can sow today to reap success tomorrow, they include hard work, diligence, dedication, discipline, perseverance, determination among others.
It is paramount we use our today wisely and do the things that are to be done today.
Before a precious gem shows its beauty, it goes through the furnace and after all the processing it comes out as what it is.
We should always have this in mind while we are traveling on the road to success.
Tomorrow
Most times when we are asked about tomorrow especially when it concerns our future, our heart skips a beat but if you are doing the right things today, your tomorrow should not be a concern. Our tomorrow is a product of our today so we have to make our today count. Our success tomorrow is determinant on our input today.
To have a wonderful house, nice cars, huge source of income, good business. Start today!
Invest wisely in your today because your tomorrow will be what you spend.
Thank you
As it is often said “one of the most powerful phrase is thank you”. Saying thank you is a sign of appreciation and it could go a long way in a person’s life which includes the person that said the words and the receiver. The receiver feels appreciated and this could make the receiver do something more for the person.
Learning to say thank you is learning to be an un-asking Oliver twist who gets more. As someone I know will say “thanksgiving is an application for more” which we can trace to the bible with the story of the 10 lepers.
The words “thank you” are few but when said goes a long way for us.
Much thanks to a friend who assisted with this article, we know how the brain could be sometimes. Lol
I would love to hear your views. Kindly drop your comments below and teach me that which you know too, let's learn from each other
What is taking a higher ratio of your time? Have you said thank you to that person that did you a favor?
