Monday Inspiration: Always Believe in Yourself

Hello dear lovers and readerssssssss, I trust the weekend went well and I am certain the week will turn out lovely as well, but before we dive into the week there is just one advice I will love to give which is ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, not your neighbor, not your friend, not your colleague, not your car but YOURSELF and then this should be done ALWAYS even when it doesn’t look like it, even when obviously the situation keeps telling you, things you haven't done right. Always believe in your self.

In every individual lies their strengths and weaknesses(EVERY) but the minute you can discover your strength and hold on fast to it, you have the best thing in the world.

Do not bother about who does believe and who doesn't believes in you. One question you should learn to ask yourself is: Am I doing the right thing, what’s the right thing? That which gives us peace on our inside, let no one take it away from you.

How I learnt to overcome the turbulence in Relationships: The secret of the foundation.

I hear people say I do not like how my relationship is going, this was not how it started so what has gone wrong?

Sometimes just when you think the foundation is right and the process is wrong, it could possibly be the other way round.

It is not wrong to feel a twist in the journey of a relationship. I once had a relationship in which I did not know the major reasons why I wanted to be in the relationship, but guess I was just naive, guess because of how much I thought I understood love and not wanting to feel lonely I dived into one.

If I was asked the questions I will be asking you now,I guess it would have been a lot easier for me.

Why are you going into a relationship? What do you hope to achieve from it?, Do you see your partner as one who will help you achieve that future you picture?

All these questions are the basics for the foundation of a relationship.

Just like the mansion you hope to see standing someday, before you start building, there are major questions you will ask just to ensure the house does not collapse the next year.

Same thing happens in a relationship. When I got in, I just wanted to avoid being lonely, I just enjoyed the feel of having to be in a relationship. But just like you, the journey started dangling, dangling, it was shaky, like a flight going through a major turbulence, quarrels, argument, happiness reduced, I did not know what was wrong but all I could just think of was God, let this cup pass over me.

I did not know what to do then, so I tried applying just one technique and that was inviting the big "C"

It is absolutely normal for the turbulence to come, especially when the beginning was not defined, but as a pilot you should be able to control the turbulence, these turbulence occurs because over time your priority became clearer to you and you started noticing the wrongs in your relationships, automatically when your partner tells you let us go out, you start saying why are
we always going out, can't we just stay indoors? It is normal.

This is not so terrible because it is normal that as we grow, we get clearer understanding of what we want.

How then can this be handled?

Just like me, you need to invite Big "C" "COMMUNICATION"

Rather than keep complaining about how things have changed, start communicating.

Now you have your priorities clear, sit with your partner and discuss.

If you do not communicate you and your partner might just be living separate lives and believing you are both doing your best to make things work, but then you have not done anything at all.

And to those who are yet to get into one, you are still opportuned to lay your foundation right, set your priorities and discuss it with the friend who wants to graduate to the next level, gone are the days of being like me.

Make your life easier and set it right.

New Month Tidings: One Month, One Character Challenge

It is a new month and everyone seems to identify this month as the month of love, all thanks to St. Valentine.

Happy new month to my online family and I am sure January went real good for most of us, because it did for me.

In this new month we are going to be keeping up with our one month one character challenge, addressing one character, one month at a time.

In January, Mine was Diligence, what was yours?

Most of us might not understand why this character challenge is actually an important one. I feel character is a major asset that everyone should actually have the right measure, no one is perfect but then one must not be a write off when it comes to character. I actually did appreciate the Diligence I worked on in the month of January because it helped me in the following ways:

- To stay committed to activities
- To avoid procrastination.
- To be on time
- To make a promise and work towards keeping it.

These I could actually say I was a bit of a write-off before but now I guess I am getting pretty much better. I had people follow up with me and then I had my people here too keeping tabs on me.

The best way to make a challenge and keep it going for yourself is to try creating an accountability group for yourself, how does this work?

Monday Inspiration: Who do you love? What are you doing about it?

Hello lovelies, sure the weekend went well. It was quite occupied for me but then my checklist was completed, sure you completed yours.

It is a new week and today I will be speaking about spreading love even in the busiest of times.

The question goes, who do you love and what are you doing about it? Most it be christmas or valentine's day for you to show  how much you love someone?

Take some time to show people you love them this week. Go out of your way a little, call your loved ones, call your mum who feels my son/daughter doesn't call me by  this time of the week, call at a very odd hour and make her know you called to check on her and so on. Surprise them.

Make your loved ones and those whom you love smile. For some of us who are not used to it, its a conscious effort and decision. I have to do this too.

I know you are busy, you have your task so full, you have your desk full with sheets of papers, all calling your name, but then you have that loved one out there who you can make last longer with a call that will make the person smile.

Send a gift across, if necessary. Give a surprise lunch, get lunch for a colleague or a friend.

Show people you love them and that they can be loved.

Extend this arm of love to the people on the street. The act of love/kindness to those on the street always goes with a prayer *GOD BLESS YOU* this prayer seems random but said from the heart goes a long way.

Share a smile, c'mon life is not that serious. :)

And to those who you love from your heart never forget to tell them how much you love them all through this week. An additional smile you bring to the face of one can increase their lifespan.

From me to you: I love you my amazing reader. You are a blessing to me.

Have an amazing week.

Are You Still Sad About That Heartbreak? Here Is A Wake Up Call

Stop, listen to me. You are holding onto memories of what was, overlooking the fact that what you have been through has put you in a harmonious position to receive things that could only be available through all of your pain.

How would it be possible to find the right one or right thing if it weren’t for all of the heartbreaks and damage by all the test? Definitely you wouldn’t.

You would have settled for cheap.

Realize that you are not your past, not what you have been through, but simply- a more ready you, ready and capable of having more….to find the one who stays.

Life might be crumbling beneath you right now, but one day you will wake up it will be 11:00, with the love of your life, the coffee will be hot and the pancakes will be fluffy, and your beautiful heart won’t be full with ice.

This is not fantasy….This is reality. Believe in who you are now, believe in the best of your tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by, I know this post has touched you so please share in the comment box below.

Have a wonderful and blessed Weekend!!

IT'S SEPTEMBER AND IT'S MY BIRTH MONTH

Hello everyone, Happy new month to us.

Yaaaay! I am so excited, I feel like a baby and I feel like I am acting really cheesy today and yes that's because its my birth month. I always look forward to my birth month because it comes like very very late in the year... Jeeez it is the 9th Month of the year, there is a difference of only 3 months left to the end of the year, so at the beginning of the year I am like, oh yeah lets wait for this. But then oh yeaah!!! it's here, yaaay.

My mum had a perfect calculation, she took in January and gave birth on the 9th month exactly, so yeah all September babies are children of perfection you know, we make an accurate count for child birth from the beginning of the year.

And above all I am excited that I have amazing, awesome readers to share that special day with me. I will share my special story on that day so stay glued.

I am extremely grateful to God for bringing us thus far and I  know in this month of September, our heart desires shall be met.

N.B: The gifts can start coming in, send me a mail to find out the date and my address and yeah I am not the best with the horoscope thing so I do not know where I fall(Libra or something #noidea). Loool.

Love my readers so so much. HAPPY HAPPY NEW MONTH FROM ME TO YOU. (All shades of me..Hahaha)

Take out a second to wish me happy new month too in the comment box below. xoxo

Monday Morning Inspiration: Squeeze All the Juice Out of This Week.

Do not remain the juice in that fruit, that might just be the sweetest part of it, squeeze it all out. You either form a juice or you refresh your body with it but use it for something very productive.

Hellooo, my sweet readers, it is a new day and a time to draw our curtains and look outside to say, yaay it is a new week.

In our segment of Monday morning inspiration, I am bringing a plate of fruit to your table (Oranges) to be precise and I am asking you to do me a favor, squeeze till there is no juice in it.

And that is my advice for you this week, make the best out of this week, accomplish all you have to accomplish, do not let anything or anyone stop you from reaching your focus this week. Say NO to procrastination, Time wasters, Money Wasters, you do not need them, tell them to come back some other time or never.

Make the very best of this week but do not let the week make the very best of you. You own the fruit, the fruit does not own you. Work with time accurately, rest well, smile always, be happy, make sure you do not crack under pressure rather when pressure comes, stay calm and draw up a solution.

NO TASK IS GREATER THAN YOU.

Squeeze Out the Juice in the week do not leave any in it, someone somewhere might just have it if you do.

So, are you ready to adjust your seat and settle in on my plate of fruits I just gave you?

Have a productive week.

Being "Single" Is Not A Disease

Do not feel shy of hanging around with friends that have partners, never limit yourself to fun, live your life. You are just single and it is not a disease neither is it contagious.

Ladies most times fall victims of this. Being single does not mean you are not pretty/handsome or you are not worthy to be in a relationship. Do not let anybody make you feel this way.

The period when you are single you should rather get to do the following things:

- Spend time developing yourself: If you just got out of a previous relationship, use this period to clear your head, clear your table and try to find out ways to make things better for the future you have ahead of you. Create a checklist of things you did wrong and make conscious efforts to change them.

- Study books: Invest your time studying. Read books that will grow you spiritually, mentally and emotionally. Study the right books and if necessary study books that will help you in your next relationship.

- Grow your prayer life: When you have cleared your head a bit. You can start making conscious efforts to be closer to God. Hold on to this scripture Matt. 6:33, "seek ye first the kingdom of God and every other thing shall be added to you". When you find God, you find the best partner.

- Take time to choose those around you: do not give room to wrong advisers. You are supposed to get the best do not settle for less. Nobody should talk you into living a wayward life. Flee from all evil advisers and choose the best set of people around you.

- Exercise and Eat Right: Take care of yourself and your body. Stay fit, eat healthy and stay happy.  Be beautiful for yourself and be happy for the person you are building yourself to become.

- Step out of your comfort Zone: Do something different, travel if you can, go see movies, take yourself out, never let yourself feel depressed.

You are single does not mean you are sick. Hold on tight. Build who you are and be set to take the best.

Will you decide to make good use of your singlehood?

I will appreciate your views, drop your ideas in the comment box below.

6 Steps To Healing a Broken Heart

Hello readers, how have we been. Thanks for the responses towards the Moments of  Inspiration, I am glad and I will keep doing more with the help of God and my awesome speakers.

Today I want to discuss on Healing a broken heart. The ability to heal is the ability to conquer hatred and find the space to love again.

There is a scar on the inside of a few that is difficult to heal but here is what I think can help:

Accept it: Really it has happened and maybe you would have done something in the past to change what happened, but that’s behind now. Accept what has happened and move on to make things better.

Don’t blame yourself for too long, blame once and move on: Trust me, you cannot stay blaming yourself, if I had not done this, this wouldn't have happened, please stop the blame game, you definitely would have blamed yourself but that enough, it’s about that time to move on.

Try to see the positives: That hurts? Yes! maybe terrible but learn the best from it, get to see if this had not happened this way, what if it had gone worse

5 Signs to know Mr. Right

Okay ladies (guys are allowed too), here  is to what has been going through my mind all day, not all day per say but then.. I am sure you get what I mean *winks*. I have read a lot from my awesome bloggers/writers on how to know when you are with the wrong guy or when he is not just the right one for you, but then I ask how do you know your are with the right BAE....

I want to share a few of what "I" think is a convincing factor:

-Religion: To me I see this as priority, because it really does matter if you guys have the same level of understanding when it comes to religion. You would not want to get married and have to drive separate cars to church on Sundays to different locations. What happens when children come, where do they go?  Not so healthy, not so good for a relationship or marriage, If I must say, but then that's what I feel.If you feel you cannot go with his, communicate and if you feel you can go with his, awesome, but going seperate ways first of all brings about separation.

-If he listens and makes a move: Oh perfect you have a guy who listens that's awesome, its even more terrible when he does not listen but what then happens when you have this one who listens to your complains and says, okay babe for that minute and the next minute, the listener is not acting? Huh? . So if I must suggest, when deciding please put that into consideration, I know ladies love the attention, in an event where you love bae so much and he listens but does not make a move please try and communicate. But to me the right bae is one who listens and makes a move.

-Peace on your inside: Yeeeaaah! This to me is primary, if you are dating a guy who you are not proud of then are you sure that is the right bae?, when you are with the right one there is this peace on your inside and you know that yes I feel extremely fulfilled. Please do not struggle with your heavy heart, a troubled spirit in a relationship says it all. I cannot exactly tell why your spirit man will be troubled but then God knows best, but trust me when you are with the right partner there is this peace on the inside. Some of us might say I have never had such, you might have but you did not know. But basically just pray.

Monday Morning Inspiration

7 Things Couples Should Never Stop

 http://lifestreasury.blogspot.com
In some relationships and marriages it gets to a time people start wondering what went wrong. I will be stating 7 things that couples not minding how long you have spent together should keep doing to keep the spark.

1. Praying together: A praying couple they say most times stay together. More often than not when people are new in relationships they tend to make all these a priority but with time these things begin to fade off and you hear excuses like no time again and for the married ones with kids, the children do not allow us to have time again and I ask since when did the kids stop becoming family? Why can't they be involved in the prayers. How busy can you be to spending 10 minutes to pray together becomes a long story. Choose a time today either in the morning or at night to say a word of prayer together. It is nice to actually hear your partner say blessings to your life. It is a form of keeping the bond stronger.

2. Complimenting Each other: Oh yea! I Know, I know. You see this guy/lady like everyday of your life I know but you know the truth you might be the first to see your partner everyday but you might not be the first to make them smile. Who is a witness of how a lady smiles when you tell her she is beautiful or how a man's confidence steps up when someone's says you are looking handsome, we know all these things, me I am guilty too o. So not minding the time or the number of years, compliment should be a way of life.

3. Plan a Surprise: I have heard couples say all these things na oyibo things, no be oyibo o. It is niceeeee. Surprises are never too much. You could even make it sweeter by planning a surprise after a misunderstanding. Nothing too big, you could decide to get a cake on your way home one day with sweet write-ups. The point is he/she never expected it so it brings the spark to the moment

Regrets are Expensive, Please do not Buy.

Hi People, I am glad to be posting on a Monday morning, something different. I am sure we all had a restful weekend.
Today I will be discussing the price tag on regret, how expensive it is and this is definitely to inspire someone out there.

Every second, Everyday , Every week, most people or better still lots of people make that one mistake that make them hate themselves. Most people make that killing decision that changes lot and we hear them say I regret ever doing this, I regret ever doing that.

Maybe you went into the wrong places over the weekend, or you drank lot till a point of regret or someone said something to you and you gave them a nasty response or you did something wrong at the office last week and you are wondering how will people see me at the office. These actions you definitely might have regretted but one thing you must understand is that day is gone and you cannot go back to it, why not pick yourself and make amends for today. If there is an I am sorry to be said, go do it, if there is a correction to be made, go make it.

It is a new day , a new time to plan all you have to do. It will only be terrible, if your regret of the previous week or the weekend affects what we do with our day and our week, because then you are piling lots of regrets.

Lady In Distress

Dear readers, I got this from a lady seeking our advice.

I cheated on this guy 2 years ago when we were dating, because I did not really love him then. So we parted. Last month, he came  back saying he wanted to marry me , that 2 different pastors told him i am the right lady for him.

I have not told him Yes or No. Presently,I am not seeing anyone.

I do not think he will trust me. I cheated on him twice.

What do I do?

Please be polite with your advice.

3 Things you should never do when you find out your Man is cheating

Cheating Spouse

I realized speaking to ladies is the most interesting aspect of my life thus far, because there is always a lot to be said. This topic we want to handle today, I will write the English as simple as I can be because it is time for our girls to wise up, do not be the pity party guest.

Most ladies are in relationships and they keep asking questions just to be sure they are doing the right thing or taking the right step. I must say I admire that because when you do not know and you ask questions most times you are guided properly but other times you could be led into the gutter.

Okay o , I have been in various conversations when ladies are asked if you find your man cheating what will you do. And then most of them give replies like I will walk away and never turn back, that's modest but how many of us will walk away and feel that walking away was right and not want to blow the dust?

I will be stating 3 things you should never do when you get him cheating:

- Meet with the Girl: What is it?! Why will you want to do that. Most times this is the first step people think of, but NOOO!! You should be able to guide your worth, act the mature one and do not even make the lady realize you are aware of her existence. If the foundation of the relationship is right and you committed it to God at the beginning take it back to him as he is the only one who can solve the puzzle. Your mouth does not have the ability to change a man just like I stated in my previous post DO PEOPLE CHANGE PEOPLE IN RELATIONSHIPS, only God has the ability to.

Self Inspired Woman

Happy Woman
It is beautiful if we actually look at ourselves in the mirror and smile at who we see, inspiring ourselves as Ladies helps to overcome a few things like Depression,Sadness and it fills us with a Spirit of Self Love, happiness and the zeal to exist. A happy lady awakens the spirit of everyone around her, because her happiness is like a virus.

I write this to us and plead we say this to ourselves everyday, make it a lifestyle and watch your life turn in style. Let's say these words together:

- I am Beautiful
- I am Powerful
- I am Confident
- I am the best the world has ever had
- I am unique because there is no other me on earth.
- I am a lady of great Impact
- I am set aside for glory
- I am the light of my home
- I am the salt of the earth
- Above all I am blessed.

Do not just say these words, see yourself in them and mean everyone of it. Inspire yourself daily because sincerely there are people out there who will do anything to be where you are today.

To all the women out there, I love you all and we are great.

There are lots to be said to inspire ourselves and will appreciate your input in the comment box below.

What is that word you will say to yourself today?

5 Truths about Friendship

 Truth about Friendship

The friendship questions, Are you a good friend and do you have good friends?

Friendship is a 2-way thing, you leave a mark on me and I do on you.

At a stage of my life I learnt that I have the right to choose my friends, but then I did not just take it in like everyone would, I thought about it. If Uju has the right to choose her friends, Grace has the same right too. So if I see Grace as a right friend and she sees me as a right friend, we can both choose ourselves, and this right is not limited to anyone.

You might be at one phase of your life and your friends decide to change from who you knew them to be to become someone else. Two major things have gone wrong;

• It is either they have found a different characteristic and decided to move along with that.
• It is just that change you needed to make your own choice.

In friendship, there are 5 truths I want to share
• The friends you move with say a lot about who you are.
• Friendship fades when priorities change.
• In friendship, do not expect the other person to always please you, it is a two way thing.
• True friends are rare, so do not believe you have millions of friends, from a percentage of 100 less than 50 percent might be the true friends
• Friendship begins by being friends with yourself.

Learn to choose right, you can have friends for class, money and all but never let them lead you out of who you truly are. You have the power to influence and you have the power to choose.

Have you made a list of your friends today?

I would love to hear from you. Kindly drop your comments below.

Let Go of the Past

"But the past does not exist independently from the present. Indeed, the past is only past because there is a present, just as I can point to something over there only because I am here. But nothing is inherently over there or here. In that sense, the past has no content. The past -- or more accurately, pastness -- is a position. Thus, in no way can we identify the past as past." — Michel-Rolph Trouillot

I have handled a similar topic before though not on my own post but as a guest speaker for @relcapsules, you should check them out.

Today I will be paying deeper insight to Letting go of the past.

Are you chronically stuck in the past? Are you allowing your history to knock your present off track, much like a skipping record? That's the question I'm posing today.

First, I think it's important to note that while the things that happened to you in the past are distinct, individual moments in time, the idea of "the past" has no such distinction. It is impossible to completely categorize the people and events from your past. Because, even if you no longer think of a specific moment in time, it is still there. You may never recall the memory of it, but in some way it either:

a) Taught you something not minding if it was good or bad,
 b) Reinforced something you already believed, effectively planting itself in your present, whether you know it or not.

This is all to say, there is no way to completely delete your past from your today, even if you're a completely different person than you used to be.

A former alcohol addict might conquer the addiction and become a responsible, honest person which are seemingly on opposite ends of what he/she was before. But his/her past, the desire to overcome, the desire to change, and the desire to be better, all would come together to allow him to be this new person. There might be millions of stand-up, honest, law-abiding citizens in the world, but none would exactly like him, because they didn't share his unique past.

However, there is a difference between the natural fusion of past and present, and allowing the past to dictate your life.

But how do you know if your past is overtaking your present?

Signs You're Letting The Past Hold You Back

1. You cling to nostalgia (pleasant remembrances)

Do you find that much of your free thoughts are spent thinking about good old days? No matter how old we are, we all have periods of time in our lives that we feel were pretty great or special. The problem is when we begin to wish we could go back or attempt to recreate that time in our current life.

I've tried this in my life, and I can tell you it doesn't work. People are constantly morphing into new people - we get older, our habits change, our friends change, our beliefs about ourselves and others change - and attempting to force people and situations into what they once were is a recipe for failure.

Try this instead: Think about what it is that is drawing your back to that particular time. Maybe you crave a particular kind of happiness or closeness. Maybe you had a lot of friends, but don't anymore, and you miss the busyness of going out with friends. Figure out what it truly is that you miss, and then find a way to get it in your current life.

 2. You are hurt by imagined wrongs.

Has a friend ever said something that you took as an insult, but was in no way meant to insult you? Maybe they commented on the size of your house and you immediately thought they were calling your house small. Maybe it annoys you when your mother stops by and goes right to cleaning your room, because you feel she's silently saying that you aren't doing your job of keeping the room clean.

Try this instead: Look at the situation objectively. Is this person really trying to insult you, or is something from your past trying to bubble up. If you can recognize that the latter is happening, you can stop it. Remind yourself that you are not what this emotion is telling you. Try to think why this person is saying what they're saying. Maybe your mother is not making a statement about your cleanliness - maybe she noticed that you have been busy with work or you are tired thought she should help out and take one task off your to-do list.

I should note that sometimes things are indeed meant as insults. But remember, you control whether or not the insults get at you. Your reaction determines whether the person is shooting bullets or shooting blanks.

3. You continue the same thought and action patterns despite knowing they aren't working for you.

The past is familiar. And we tend to like what is familiar. Only sometimes, familiar is what gets us into predicaments.

Take weight loss, for instance. Have you ever tried to lose weight, but get caught up in resentment, toward those to seemingly get to eat whatever they want or toward your younger body that never used to gain weight? We begin to get frustrated when we aren't losing fast enough, and then give up. We do this again and again and come to the conclusion that it can't be done.  Except our conclusion is based on faulty logic or incomplete data

Try this instead: Instead of basing decisions on past occurrences, take note of the facts (not opinions) about the current situation. Instead of relying on what you think you know, take the time to really look objectively at the situation. Using the example from above, instead of assuming you just can't lose weight, look at the steps that got you there. Did you really eat as well as you thought? Or did you happen to "forget" the nights of snacking in front of the TV?  Keep analyzing everything until you get down to the root of the problem. It's not that you couldn't lose weight, it's that you couldn't lose weight doing what you were doing.

What is it you would let go of today? What is holding you back that you would let go of today?

This is the little I know. I would love to hear your views. Kindly drop your comments below and if you would like me to share an inspiration, idea or personal experience to help a life.  Kindly send the write-up to chukwuuju@ymail.com and specify if you want to be left as anonymous.

Self Pity II

Hello readers I am sure we all enjoyed the first part of self-pity and there are still lots to learn about Self-pity that's why we have a part II *Yaaay*

What does the Bible say about Self-pity?
Every human being is prone to self-pity. We are born self-centered, with a powerful drive to protect our egos and our rights. When we decide that life has not treated us as we have the right to be treated, self-pity is the result. Self-pity causes us to obsess over our hurts, real or perceived. At the heart of self-pity is a disagreement with God over how life and how he has treated us.

The biggest clue that self-pity is not of God is the word self. Any time we are focused on ourselves, other than for self-examination leading to repentance (1 Corinthians 11:28), we are in the territory of the flesh. Our sinful flesh is the enemy of the Spirit (Romans 8:7). When we surrender our lives to Christ, our old nature is crucified with Him (Galatians 2:20; Romans 6:6). The self-ish, sinful part of our lives no longer needs to dominate. When self is dominant, God is not.

Causes of Self- Pity

Broken Heart: Your lower nature had you believe that someone’s love, often a parent or spouse was supposed to be unconditional, but that was putting unreasonable expectations on another human being.  There is only one Best Lover and that is God
If you have a broken heart, you expect to be hurt by everyone for the rest of your life.  In order to get past this, you need to stop taking responsibility for the sins of others as if they were yours.

Adversity: There is glory in tribulation, because it’s the first step towards victory.  When we can overcome our difficulties they are no longer problems.  We never have to work at them again because we have perfected them.  The things we have overcome become our victories; which changes our personality and our spirituality and who we are.  But to overcome takes practice, and we can’t practice without taking the first steps.  Self-pity won’t let you take those steps.

Ways to Opt out of Self-Pity
Turn to God:  Until we turn to God, His love can’t reach us

Read the Writings:  The only way to break the cycles is to understand and start following the Words of God.  Nothing else can change the way you think.

Make self-pity your enemy: If you do it in a fun way, catching yourself in the action and letting it know there’s no room in your heart for it, you will find yourself laughing in delight.

Detachment:  It’s not the load that breaks you down but the way you carry it.  Detachment and self-sacrifice are the keys:

Happiness: Happiness comes from our higher nature.  Our reality is spiritual, and when we live in that world, we are truly happy, but again we have to choose it for ourselves, and the best way to be able to choose, is to know the truth

Work:  The cure for self-pity is to engage in some occupation. Personally I love to work to occupy my mind.

Understand it’s a process: Nothing is permanent, everything you see today is just a phase which will definitely pass.

Gratitude/Thanksgiving: Self-pity is opposite to goodness in your life.  The opposite of self-pity is gratitude and thankfulness.  It’s easier to overcome something when we have a positive attitude.

Self Pity I

Pity is a form of external validation that is based off feelings of inferiority. The desire for external validation and the internal lack of self-esteem is a serious one-two punch knocking down our happiness levels.

When I was younger, I remember occasionally hurting myself while playing outside.

If I rolled my ankle, I might fall to the ground clutching it, but not feeling too bad overall. Then, when someone from my family or a friend would run up to me and see if I was okay, I’d start getting choked up.

At the time, this confused me and made me even more upset. Why could I not control myself?

I experienced a lot of self-pity because I felt like I was weak and could not handle my emotions and then I would break out in tears.

None of this made any sense to me then, but it would happen the same way every time.

Now that I’m older, I think I “get” it. I actually enjoyed the feeling of pity and would subconsciously seek it out.

This doesn’t just happen in children. Did you ever notice how when some people get sick or injured, they will practically brag about it?

“Hey everyone! I totally broke my arm the other day. Look at me!”

This whole “enjoyment of being pitied” business is particularly an indirect form of attention-seeking behavior.
It is a sign of insecurity. We want to be pitied because we crave attention, and without pity, we worry that nobody will care about us.

Dangerous sides of Self-Pity

It Builds a Wall Between You and Failure

As far as I can tell, the difference is that self-pity gives you an excuse to not apply yourself, while depression makes you unable to apply yourself even though you want to. And you've heard the excuses. "I want to write a book, but I'm no good at writing." "I want to get a date, but I'm too unattractive.
But this goes beyond laziness. Not trying something because you were born without the appropriate attribute to succeed turns it into a go-to means of softening the blow

You Justify Your Anger by Comparing Yourself to Successful People

A powerful fuel for misery is looking at someone, especially someone your age or younger, and lamenting the fact that they have a better career, house, action-figure collection, etc. This is especially true if it looks like they have a better everything, so you can't even take solace in the fact that while they may have a hot spouse, they're too busy making them happy to spend time with friends and you get super jealous. When you're in the dregs of self-pity, you almost insist on finding someone you can't live up to in order to make yourself feel bad. If you envy one friend's job and another friend points out that his long work weeks are making him lonely, you'll obsess over a second friend who has a great career and a great social life.

 Negative Effects of Self pity
1. The only thing feeling sorry for yourself changes about your life is that it makes it worse.
2. No matter how you look at it, you involve yourself with whatever you resist!
3. Being wrapped up in self-pity completely spoils any chance of being able to see new possibilities as they appear; besides, no one likes sour milk!
4. The only thing that grows from cultivating any dark seed of sorrow is more bitter fruit.
5. Feeling sorry for those who want you to feel sorry for them is like giving an alcoholic gift certificate to a liquor store.
