Hello Lovelies, how are we today? I am sure the week has been going real great. Mine has been amazing and please feel free to share your experiences below, the good, bad and ugly.
Today, I will be discussing about setting yourself free. In the ladder of personal development, personal freedom has been ranked as the highest thing that hold people down from becoming the best of themselves.
What do I mean by personal freedom, personal freedom is setting yourself free from factors that tend to weigh you down, examples of this factors include, guilt, shame, anger, envy and lots more.
How much longer do you want to keep crucifying yourself, how much longer do you intend to live in agony? anything that holds us down is what we refer to as living in chains. One does not have to be behind the prison walls to know you are in chains, leaving a life full of pains, hatred, anger and lots more is more or less living in chains.
Are you wondering whether this is true? Let's do a quick review, how do you feel when you see that friend who hurt you in past years (let's take it like 3 years back)? Do you feel comfortable hanging around or you just automatically get irritated? If you cannot live free around your environment because of one factor then you are living in chains.
How do you set yourself free?
Make the Decision
This is the first step you have to take to make yourself free. I definitely cannot help you decide on how best to live, I can only advice but I cannot force you to do anything, you have to make the decision to set yourself free." Tell yourself it is time to break loose from these chains"
That is the first step to freedom.
Ask God for Help
Setting yourself free is something you cannot do alone, why? because when you make the decision, it takes God's backing to hold on to the decision of freeing yourself and not falling back to where you started, we also need God's help because some decisions need a lot of courage and an in-depth spirit of forgiveness which only God gives.
Talk It Over
Speak to whoever has wronged you, put your courage together and let the person know what he/she did was wrong, some people do not know their faults, people are different, until you speak some people might not understand.
Learn to Forgive
They are two people to forgive here; 1) The person who has made you feel bad in whatsoever way and 2) Yourself, you have to forgive yourself of whatsoever anger, hatred, regrets and shame, you are better than who you were yesterday.
Open your Heart to Love even more
Love! Love!! Love!!! Open your heart and make the decision to love whoever or whatever hurt you. Love conquers all. Love even more.
Last but not the least
Flip unto a new Page
Now that you have the chains off, it is time to start writing your new story of Joy, happiness, love and laughter. It is a story worth writing and a life worth reading.
As I type this I feel it heavy in my heart that I am speaking to someone out there. It might not be so easy to forgive but go through these steps. Do not be jailed in this interesting life.
As we step into the new year let us begin to flip to new pages, let's go, forgive, love and be happy.
I know you can do it.
Always remember I BELIEVE IN YOU.
New theme. I see you!
ReplyDeleteI learnt a lot on letting go this year and its really freeing.
I agree with this : "some people do not know
their faults, people are different"

Yes yes!!! And Cassie herself stopped over.
DeleteOh dear, you can say that again, freeing is an understatement, you can then start living.
With a grudge or a hurt it almost like one cell in your body is dead but when you let go there is this revival that comes with it.
Thanks for stopping by dear.
It's not an easy process but you covered the steps quite aptly. I agree with each single one of them! May God continue to grant you wisdom and give us all the help we need to break free of whatever chains might be holding us.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a very joyful and prosperous new year, dear lady.:-)

Hi Uju
ReplyDeleteWhat a great insight. I learn to love people because I know that no one is perfect. Holding grudges does not help and besides it is dangerous to one's health.
Love does sooth the soul. Thanks for sharing. Take Care
Very very dangerous to the health. One hatred can lead to a million more. But then love is always the way forward.
DeleteThanks for stopping by.

DeleteLoad, you say! Me I call it truck, holding a grudge is like driving a saloon car with the steering of a truck. Its so heavy, but then there is a way out. Merry Xmas to you too dear, hope to see you sometime in 2016.
Thanks for stopping by dear.
Hi Uju,
ReplyDeleteMost people fail to understand that they have to power to free themselves. Bitterness, resentment and all those others links out there can be broken for good once they decide to do so.
Asking God to help is the best advice one can give. We can't do it along.
You gave so many good advices that I can hear the chains falling as I write this. :D:
I will be back to get more of your spiritual food of inspiration.
Vernon
